Who Am I?

In Fall 2025, Cameron McGill will begin pursuing his M.M. in Instrumental Performance at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He earned his B.M. in Music Performance at Florida State University (FSU) under the tutelage of Dr. Karen Large and Dr. Mary Matthews. His previous teachers include Irene Pruzan and Dr. Adrienne Read. 
Growing up in Orlando, FL, Cameron (he/him) has participated in the University of Central Florida Flute Summer Camp, led by Dr. Nora Lee Garcia; the Youth Band of Orlando, led by Dr. Tremon Kizer; Orlando Youth Chamber Ensemble's Flute Choir; the Metropolitan Area Youth Orchestras; and the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestras. 
In 2022-2023, Cameron served as a co-fundraising officer for the Flute Association at FSU. He was principal flute in the FSU Wind Ensemble for two semesters, and has previously held flute and piccolo positions in the University Symphony Orchestra and University Philharmonia Orchestra. Recently, he played alto flute in the NFA 2024 Collegiate Flute Choir, and was named the 2024 NFA First Generation Scholarship Recipient. 
His most memorable experience so far has been performing his Senior Recital at FSU. Back at home, he is a frequent member of both the National Flute Association and Florida Flute Association. His biggest passion in music is flute pedagogy, but outside of music, Cameron is an avid pet lover, and enjoys to read, exercise, and play pickleball in his free time.

What I Do

  • I teach flute lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, either online or in Paradise, NV. Each lesson is designed to meet individual needs and goals, whether you're a beginner enjoying the flute for the first time or an advanced player wanting to improve. I create a supportive and creative environment, helping students explore their love for music, grow their skills, and reach their goals with confidence.

  • As a flutist with over ten years of experience in bands, orchestras, and recitals, I aim to inspire and connect with my audience through music. Each performance is about more than just playing notes; I strive to evoke feelings and share stories. Committed to excellence, I create engaging experiences that resonate with listeners. My journey as a flutist focuses on building connections, one note at a time.
